Cerium Oxide ( CeO2 ) Powder Applications

  • Coatings: cerium oxide powders play a role as an ingredient in various coatings, including heat resistant coatings, oxidation resistant coatings, UV absorbing coatings, and IR filter coatings. CeO2 also plays a role in the use of superconductors, where it is valuable in coatings as a buffer layer.
Catalysts: Like many other materials, cerium oxide has been carefully studied and applied as catalyst and catalyst support. It is also valuable as an additive for sintering and other metallurgical activities.
Fuel Cells: Like many related materials, cerium oxide particles have been a key problem for fuel cell research, is the ingredient of particular use in the production of electrolytes and electrode materials in solid oxide projects.
Coloring agent: cerium oxide has been used as a dye for some materials, including plastics, thanks to its unique optical agents in these diameters.
Oxygen devices: the unique characteristics of cerium oxide make it particularly useful in some devices that deal with oxygen, such as pumps and sensors.
Polishing: as a powder, cerium oxide works particularly well as a ball bearing polishing medium, various electronic devices, glass, and other devices and materials.
UV absorption: few materials offer the same level of ultraviolet absorption for surface available with cerium oxide, which makes it particularly interesting for any number of coatings and shields and in a base material or additive. At 400 nm it absorbs more than any other oxide.
