Ytterbium Oxide Powder Applications

• Fluorescent. Several fluorescents use Yb oxide to produce red light.
  Yb oxide powder sample is one of the materials used to produce red color on televisions and other displays.
  Microwave filter Certain composite materials used for microwave filtering are produced using a Yb oxide powder base.
  Inorganic synthesis Various forms of Yb and other inorganic compounds are produced using Yb oxide powder as a starting point.

  Yb oxide (III) is the chemical compound with the formula Yb2O3. It is one of the most common ytterbium compounds. It has the structure of “sesquioxide type C rare earth” that is bound to the fluorite structure with a quarter of canceled anions, leading to ytterbium atoms in two different six-coordinate (non-octahedral) environments.
