Tellurium Oxide Nanoparticles
TeO2 nanoparticles are a broadband p-type chalcogenide material available in both crystalline and amorphous phases. In crystalline form, tellurium oxide nanoparticles exist in the paratellurite and tellurite phases. TeO2 Nanoparticles has remarkable properties, including high chemical stability, mechanical durability, high refractive index, good optical nonlinearity, electrical conductivity and piezoelectricity, making it suitable for various applications. In addition, TeO2 Nanoparticles is also reported to have been an almost “forgotten” material in the field of biology, but several studies in recent years have sparked a renewed interest in researching this material. The nano-bio-interaction is an important aspect for the safe use of nanoparticles (NPs) in any biological system. Recently, Arakha et al. examined the interaction of negatively charged iron oxide NP n (IONP) and positively charged chitosan p (IONP) with Bacillus subtilis and E. coli and reported that chitosan-modified p (IONP) significantly increased the antimicrobial propensity. It has been observed that the size, stability and concentration of TeO2 Nanoparticles in the growth medium influence the antibacterial activity. Some reports suggest that NP-modified growth medium can inhibit bacterial population growth due to a specific interaction.
